One of my favorite student stories is about a student who didn’t think he could get into Northwestern State University. It took him all year and multiple attempts to ace the ACT, but he was finally accepted. We got the call at 8 p.m. on a Friday night. My boss and I drove to his home so we could tell him in person.

Being a Career Compass college & coach is the best job ever because I get talk to teens about one of the most important things ever - their futures! Some of them have it all figured out, while others need some information to fill in the blanks. But there is another group of students who do not realize the potential they have; and, with a little bit of guidance, they can envision a future that they never would have thought possible.
